Bookmaker William Hill is offering odds on whether President-elect Barack Obama will legalize online gambling.
The bookmaker is offering even odds that Obama will legalize online gambling during his presidency. Odds that Obama will not legalize online gambling are a lot lover at 8-11 during the entirety of his presidency.
Graham Sharpe, a spokesman for William Hill, said that they are defining the legalization of online betting as being able to place any bet online that a UK citizen would currently be able to do. He also said, “You would not get paid out if poker was made legal online but sports betting was not. We would only say online gambling was fully legalized if you could bet on sports, bingo, casinos and poker.”
The chances of all online gambling in the US being legalized looking less likely when considering the NFL’s total resistance to any form of wager on profession football. This will make is extremely difficult for pro-gambling group to overcome. Many commentators are predicting that online poker, bingo and casino games are likely to be permitted before online sports betting is passed by the US government.
William Hill is also offering odds on various other events that could occur during the Obama presidency including a US citizen walking on the moon 33/1, Obama having a third child 16/1, Obama to be impeached 50/1, the constitution to be changed to allow three Presidential terms 50/1, the confirmation of the capture of Osama Bin Laden 6/4, Michelle Obama to be elected US President during her lifetime 20/1, Malia Obama to be elected US President during her lifetime 16/1, Sasha Obama to be elected US President during her Lifetime 20/1 and for Obama to win a second term of office odds are even.
