Phil Ivey has won the FullTilt.com Million Dollar Cash Game held in London in a two-day high stakes competition. This is not the first time Ivey has won the FullTilt.com million dollar prize, he has won the trophy once before. To win Ivey beat well known players from the Full Tilt Team including, David Benyamine, Chis Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth and Tom “durrrr” Dwan.
Ivey took home a prize of over $500,000 whereas professional players Hellmuth and Antonius went home sore after losing $200,000 each. Hellmuth is having a run of bad luck recently, especially with televised tournaments, and ended up storming off the set shortly after losing a big pot to Ivey. The only other player to win the Full Tilt Million Dollar Prize is Tony G who won $223,000 in 2007, Ivey almost won this too but had to content with second prize and $101,100. This year it was Chris Ferguson taking home the second prize while Ivey won all the glory.
In his other success Ivey has won five WSOP bracelets dominating cash tables all over the world. Ivey is well known for his frequency at the ‘The Big Game’ in the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas, one of the top cash games in the world.
You can watch the Million Dollar Cash game on Sky Sports in January. Last year Ivey and Antonius’ $800,000 pot was the largest ever sum of money won in one hand of televised poker at the time.
