Glasgow, Scotland, has been named the luckiest place in the UK to play bingo. In particular, it is the Mecca Bingo Club in Forge, Glasgow, which is the luckiest as they’ve won in total 16 national bingo games resulting in total prize winnings of £727,165. This announcement means that this is the fourth consecutive year that Scotland has been named luckiest country and the second time in a row Glasgow is the luckiest city.
Last March, one bingo player in Glasgow even took the world’s largest ever bingo win at £1.2 million when they won the national bingo games jackpot prize. Steve Baldwin a representative from the National Bingo Game Association (NBGA), who conducted the survey which was based on the regions that had the most national bingo wins, said: “We’ve had 984 big winners over the past 12 months and they pocketed over £36 million between them. Bingo has a huge following in Scotland so we’re delighted to see that they have not only won the title for the fourth year in a row but they have also delivered our biggest bingo winner yet!”
As well as the luckiest bingo hall in the UK being in Scotland, second place also went to a hall in Scotland, The Mecca in Stockton Wharf. On the other end of the scale the unluckiest places to play bingo were named as Peterhead, Wavertree Park, Fishponds, Walsall and Bracknell who had the lowest number of national bingo game wins. However, the national bingo game has produced three millionaire bingo winners in the past six months which the platinum jackpot, now part of the national bingo game, is held accountable for.
