The gold medal at the Devilympics, hosted by DevilfishPoker.com, has been won by a Brit. “Olipizer” won the gold medal prize and took home €5,000 beating Canadian “igotabigpp” who received €3,000 for the silver medal. The bronze medal also went to a Brit, “Cammykaze” who won €2,000. Britain also came on top of the medal table taking 59 overall of which 21 were gold.

Poker champion Dave “Devil Fish” Ulliott founder of DevilFish.com said, “The Brits medal haul was more than we could have hoped for and gold medal winner Olipizer did us proud.” The competition was very close. Half way through the tournament there was only 12 points between the top 5 players on the leader board.

The Devilympics took place during the Beijing Olympics. It lasted 15 days and this year offered players a €20,000 prize pool. Players who reached the final table of the 75 tournaments were awarded points, 10 for gold, 6 for silver, 4 for bronze and 1 point for 4th to 9th place. The winner is determined by who had accumulated the most points during the Devilympics.

Players were also given the chance to play against Dave Ulliott with a €250 bounty awarded to the player who knocked him out. Ulliott has also won the Card Player European Player of the Year award in 2007 and a WSOP bracelet in 1997. He is described as “deservedly the most-well respected player from Europe in America.”
