The Gambling Commission has signed a contract with leading international information technology services company, Atos Origin. The agreement will see Atos Origin implement the IT systems that support the Commission’s licensing and compliance work for arcades, betting shops, bingo halls, casinos, gaming machine suppliers and lotteries, in addition to British-based gambling websites.
The Gambling Commission decided on Atos Origin due to the company’s experience. Bill Butler, director of corporate services at the Gambling Commission said, “Following a competitive process, we selected Atos Origin because it demonstrated that it understands our needs and has the capability and experience to deliver.”
To supply the Commission with a single, up to date view of each operator for both office-based and mobile staff Atos Origin will implement Siebel 8.0. The aim of this is to supply the Gambling Commission with the required regulatory information and intelligence at the right time and in the right place.
Atos Origin sees the new solution as an easier mode of keeping gambling fair and safe for the Gambling Commission. Anne Ware, vice president for public sector at Atos Origin said, “Having the correct information to hand at the right time is essential for all organisations. “For the Gambling Commission, this new solution will help them to keep gambling fair and safe for all by making it easier to ensure that operators are fulfilling their requirements.”
